  the \code{\link[AnnotationDbi:AnnDbPkg-checker]{checkMAPCOUNTS}}
  function defined in AnnotationDbi to compare and validate different
  methods (like \code{count.mappedkeys(x)} or
  \code{sum(!is.na(as.list(x)))}) for getting the "map count" of a given
  map.
